INALA — The Grammy-Nominated Musical Experience

INALA is one of the most distinctive musicals in London — a Grammy-nominated music and dance production that has toured internationally, performed for royalty, and received widespread critical acclaim for both its artistic excellence and its cultural impact.

Audiences have risen to their feet at the Royal Albert Hall, the Royal Variety Performance, Hampton Court Palace, Marina Bay Sands in Singapore, and the Mandela Auditorium at Joburg Theatre.

Now, INALA resides permanently at House of Sisters Grimm, where it is presented in a uniquely close-up, immersive setting in London’s West End.

A Story of Collaboration and Legacy

INALA was born from a shared vision between cultures — to honour musical heritage, celebrate diversity, and unite audiences through performance.

INALA first premiered in 2014 with music co-composed by the late Joseph Shabalala, founder of legendary Ladysmith Black Mambazo, and Ella Spira MBE, co-founder of Sisters Grimm, with original choreography by Mark Baldwin OBE.

A Living Tribute

INALA has now relaunched with a new cast of South African singer-dancers, and narration by Ndaba Mandela, grandson of Nelson Mandela.

It stands as a tribute to Joseph Shabalala, whose work with Paul Simon on Graceland helped bring South African music to the world and contributed to cultural shifts during apartheid. INALA was his final international stage work — a lasting legacy of unity through music.
