The Sisters Grimm Charitable Trust

At House of Sisters Grimm, we believe live performance can open doors. Through our Social Impact Programme, we provide free access to world-class shows, creative workshops, and career guidance for young people who might otherwise be excluded from the arts.

Since 2017, we’ve welcomed over 8,000 young people from diverse backgrounds to our productions—many experiencing theatre for the very first time. From the West End to the Royal Albert Hall, from Singapore to China, our international tours include tailored outreach programmes that ensure local communities are part of every step of the journey.

In partnership with organisations like The Prince’s Trust, we offer pathways into the creative industries through school visits, behind-the-scenes workshops, and work experience placements. Our goal is simple: to show young people that they belong in these spaces, on these stages, and within these industries.

As we grow, our permanent productions aim to expand this work even further, inspiring the next generation of creatives.

Art In Nature

Art in Nature is our signature global youth initiative, using creativity to inspire connection with nature and culture.

Through free-to-enter competitions and workshops, we invite young people from all backgrounds to express their relationship with the environment through art. From the UAE to Australia, and Australia to the UK, thousands of children and teenagers have shared powerful visions of the natural world—responding to themes of climate change, social justice, and collective hope.

More than just a competition, Art in Nature is a platform for education and inclusion. It supports mental well-being, celebrates diverse abilities, and creates opportunities for those often underrepresented in the arts. Every submission becomes part of a growing global archive of youth voices, showcased through digital galleries and music videos that reach millions worldwide.

Samantha Collins:

My name is Samantha Collins. I am a 4th year LLB student at Wits University and worked as a volunteer with Lawyers Against Abuse on this project.

Ncumisa Sopazi

Has worked as a Legal Officer at Lawyers Against Abuse since 2019 and has overseen the coordination of the organization’s Hillbrow office since 2022. She holds a Bachelor of Commerce in Law from the University of Fort Hare and a Bachelor of Laws from the University of South Africa. With a solid foundation in community work, Ncumisa also worked as a Junior Trainer at Sonke Gender Justice and a Research Assistant with the Wits Health Consortium on a large intimate partner violence prevention study in Diepsloot. She is motivated by a desire to promote women’s and children’s rights, enhance access to justice among marginalised populations, and create framework that is context-specific as a means of response to gender-based violence.

Nwabisa Dlova

Nwabisa Dlova is a dedicated social justice activist, intersectional Pan-African feminist, Sexual reproductive health advocate, and a clinical social worker. She is committed to advancing social justice through groundwork, passionate about ensuring that young people have access to information, services, and participation in decision-making on issues affecting them. In her current role as Psychosocial Support programme Manager at Lawyers against Abuse, she leads a multidisciplinary team delivering trauma-informed counselling, wellness workshops and psychoeducational sessions for survivors of gender-based violence, including children and their caregivers. Her work centers around advancing social justice, supporting marginalized communities, and promoting human rights, particularly for women, children and the queer community. She is committed to creating positive change through her activism, social work, and advocacy efforts. Nwabisa has participated in several stakeholder engagements across the African region to shape policies on gender-based violence and has led numerous protests and engagements addressing GBVF in the Eastern Cape. As a university of Fort Hare alumni, she played a key role in the formation and adoption of the Policy on Sexual Harassment and Gender-Based Violence which aimed at disrupting “manhood” for a GBV-free learning and working environment in institutions of higher learning.

Boitumelo Pinkone:

Nonhlanhla Boitumelo Pinkoane was born in Lenasia South and completed her Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree at the University of South Africa. She is an active member of the South African Black Women in Law Organisation and the Black Lawyers Association. Currently a Junior Legal Officer at Lawyers Against Abuse, she is driven by a strong commitment to justice, fairness, and community empowerment. With resilience and integrity, Nonhlanhla is passionate about constitutional and human rights law, aspiring to contribute meaningfully to South Africa’s legal landscape. Determined and purposeful, she is unafraid to affirm her mission: to make a difference.

Basetsana Koitsioe

Basetsana Koitsioe is a South African legal scholar, public interest lawyer, and expert in gender justice and reproductive rights. Her work combines strategic litigation, legal research, and advocacy to promote human rights and equitable healthcare across Africa. In 2025, she was recognised as one of the Top 25 Women Lawyers in Africa to Watch by the Institute for African Women in Law. With expertise in health law, human rights law, and gender-based violence, Basetsana began her career at SECTION27 and later spent seven years at the Centre for Applied Legal Studies (CALS), leading litigation, research, and teaching. She has litigated landmark gender justice cases including S v Coko and delivered lectures on obstetric violence to medical students to bridge legal and healthcare education. Her regional work includes amicus interventions in Uganda and Malawi on issues of sexual orientation and child protection, in collaboration with the Southern Africa Litigation Centre (SALC). Basetsana has led national efforts on obstetric violence through litigation, workshops, and media, and was featured in a documentary with Embrace: Mothers Movement. Currently, she serves as Acting Executive Director at Lawyers against Abuse, focusing on gender-based violence and femicide. A former member of the Feminist Lawyers Network, she was trained by the Initiative for Strategic Litigation in Africa and has experience before the African Commission on Human and Peoples’ Rights.
